Sometimes it's interesting to go back over some old writings and you may be surprised at how relevant things were back then to now. This was written back in 2017 and I found it whilst clearing out some old blog files from a very old website. However when reading it - it's message is loud and clear and stronger than the day it was written. So here it is again... hope you enjoy.
With our ever increasingly busy lives it's sometimes difficult to be aligned with our spiritual self. Whilst immersed in our daily lives, patterns and habits can arise that serve to distract us from our true purpose. How many times have you found yourself flicking through TV channels, scrolling Facebook or web browsing totally unaware of how much time has passed only to wonder why waste all those previous moments when so many other things could have been done instead. It's so easy to fall into this and sometimes we need to kick ourselves out of the habit.
Time is precious so don’t waste it... saviour every minute of it. Turn that TV off, take a social media break, read a book, have a walk, maybe take time to prepare some delicious food instead. Nourish your body and soul. Spirituality is an inner sense of who we are.
Spirituality is a word that I feel is taken out of context at times. To be spiritual is to be in tune with yourself. You really don't need to spend money on tools or qualifications to do that. Let’s face it you don’t wave a wand about and suddenly become ‘spiritual’. Simply just close your eyes and be ♥️
spirituality
spɪrɪtʃʊˈalɪti,spɪrɪtjʊˈalɪti/
[noun]
the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things. "the shift in priorities allows us to embrace our spirituality in a more profound way"
So try tuning into yourself on a daily basis and ask yourself how you feel.
• Are you ok?
• Would you like to do something different today?
• What do you want to do and how can you achieve that?
• What changes do you need to make to align your mind body and soul?
So love yourself, understand yourself and most importantly allow yourself the time you truly need to understand the essence of you. Remind yourself daily that you are important. And don’t forget to take a step back and just breathe to find yourself again.
Remember that your path is yours to take and yours alone. Define yourself. We all make mistakes, have crap days and go through periods of just things not going right. Take things one step at a time and soon enough your path becomes a little clearer.
So start today - sit back give yourself ten and ask yourself those questions. You might be surprised at the answers you get.
with love as always
