Use them in many ways for quick and simple answers.

1 - Take a breath - shuffle the deck and pull a card whilst asking for the answer to your question. 

OR 2 - lay the cards out face down on a table and use an actual pendulum to hover over the cards and let the pendulum choose the correct one.

OR 3 - lay the cards out in a clock (that's why there are 12!) and again use your pendulum to find the answer.
